Jed Hallam
Dip.W.C.F, Cert.E-F, CertEd.
MD & Head Practitioner
Jed has been shoeing horses for well over 30 years, working with World Class athletes on Olympic standard horses, shoeing Group 1 winning racehorses, right through to the family pony. He took over ownership of Paddockwood Forge in 1998 and has since then trained numerous
apprentices and given extensive experience to younger farriers along the way. In 2009, Jed became one of the first in the profession to gain Cert. Ed status in farriery and successfully tutored a number of apprentices, some of whom still come to help at PWF when times are busy.
As well as the everyday farriery tasks, Jed is involved with several Farriery competitions including the International Team Shoeing where he officiates as the Scores and Time keeper. When away from the Equine world, Jed can be found at
Gainsborough Trinity Football Club where he is on the board of Directors.

Ruth Hallam
BHSAI
Administration Assistant
Ruth Joined PWF IN 2012 after having previously held Centre Manager
positions in the both the Equine and Aviation industries. Ruth also works part time at a local small animal veterinary centre.
When not at work Ruth spends her time at the stables with her horse or relaxing with a glass of white wine and is a member of a local band.

Mavis Hallam

Head of HR
Mavis is both the newest and youngest member of the team having joined in
2022 at the age of just 10 weeks!
Mavis sees herself as head of customer
relations and human resources and has proved to be very popular with the clients, regularly sharing cuddles with them.
Mavis’ interests are biscuits and sleeping, her dislikes are Alpacas and showers! When not at work, Mavis enjoys country walks down the river.
